Spagetti and Meatballs...

So... with the 101 on my driveway not progressing at a rapid pace, Mostly due to the financial constraints set by my budget, and the anticipated arrival of an ex-Discovery 200Tdi and LT77 gearbox and its ancillary components. My thoughts therefore turn to smaller, cheaper areas to work on.

My current project on the go is the Electrics, including the cab, So far I've mocked up a cardboard cutout version of my proposed dashboard and modelled it in CAD, which subject to some final checks is hopefully ready to be produced in aluminium and at the moment I am thinking about the wiring.

I intend to have a single rear loom much like the standard 101 has, however because im using the euro 13 pin trailer electrics and I also intend to have a reversing lamp and fog lamp on both sides of the vehicle, plus the usual indicators and stop tail lamps, I need to put several extra wires down the loom.

This choice therefore means that i need to make a custom rear harness which gives me the option to move the loom to follow a different route, and to start/stop in different locations.

More soon!!!

A 101 Specification

When it came up to the end of the Land Rover 101s lifetime in service with the MOD, the company tendered to rebuilt the ageing fleet and to upgrade them to the new 200Tdi turbo diesel and improve other areas where the vehicle was "dated", however this contract was not taken up and the RB44 and Pinz were eventually selected.

I would like to build my 101 as a suggested idea of what may have been possible if Land Rover had built these 200Tdi powered 101s, and what they could have became once entering civilian hands.
